Stonefields part 2 continues and more

First up a few more blocks from Part 2 of the Stonefields quilt. The two little star blocks together.

The three cross blocks.

And the first of two Occilating blocks.

The second one is prepped but not yet sewn as I wanted to check out my situation with the hexagon rosettes that go on the final border. Most of these are left over from a pervious project and I wanted to make sure I could use them in Stonefields. I have many more already cut but none are fussy cut which means I want to make sure to add as many details as possible with the ones I cut out now. So I did cut and make a few and think I can work these in. I have a couple with blue and I am thinking I may want to add a few blue bits to the Stonefields quilt blocks. Either that or eliminate the blue hexagons. Any thoughts?

I also finally added the last pieced border to my Sampler Magic quilt. Just one more border of the focus fabric and this one will be a finished top!

Finally, I did a wee bit of sewing for my granddaughter who turned a year old this week. Her mom asked if I would make a new mattress cover and bumper pad for her old doll cradle and selected fabrics from my stash but sadly I forgot to take a photo. However I did remember to take one of the doll quilt and pillow I made to match. Though I am not thrilled with my quilting, it was fun to just play in my scraps one afternoon and actually complete something.

Love the Sampler Quilt!

The more and more I see of the Stonefield quilt I am wanting to purchase the pattern and work it.

It is a nice mixture of applique and machine piecing! Are you hand piecing the hexigons or machine piecing?

Now I have to recite this over and over..."Bev, you may not buy the Stonefield quilt pattern. You may not buy the Stonefield quilt pattern." This is your fault. Look at that beauty! I love your Sampler Magic quilt too! The colors are amazing! And I love the little doll quilt. I've made some for my granddaughter who's 5 now and she calls them her baby quilts. Fun!

Love that fan block---I was just happy watching you put together these blocks---until that one showed up!! I must not fall for this pattern. I always seem to want to do whatever you are working on!! You make things so fun & you move quickly in the block construction. I need a class in how you accomplish so much. The dolly quilt is awesome. I think the quilting looks sweet. Little quilts are great & she will love those bright colors.

It's fun to watch your Stonefields growing as well as seeing the sampler again and that's a sweet little quilt and pillow :)

Drooling over your work and the pattern. You will have a work of art when finished.

Your colour choices are right on. I always struggle with colour.

Lovely blocks, Heather!
The only blue one that sticks out a bit, I think, is the one down on the left. The other blues look great.

Jane is right, it is only that one but if you could add a few little bits elsewhere? If it were mine and I wanted just one colour to pop, it would be red....

I like the blue. But as both Jane and Sally say, add just a touch of that blue somewhere else and it will be perfect. I also must say I did buy the Stonefields pattern. U did have an influence on my decision. I should get the pattern just as I finish "Afternoon Delight" by Sue Garman.
