More great granny squares

Work continues on my Great granny quilt. I will probably eliminate one block that still doesn't seem to be working. I am now thinking of each block as a little quilt as I choose the fabrics and I like that process better than the ones that are more random. I am hoping to make 25 blocks but don't think the jellyroll with stretch that far. Sure wish I didn't hate that one block but perhaps adding a few new fabrics will help. Lol. I can almost hear Tim Gunn telling me to "make it work".

It's turning out to be a very pretty quilt.

They really are like small quilts in each block--they might look a little different when the edges are cut off and they sit nearer each other!! Just a thought--I have been string piecing and the overlapping fabric makes things look more vivid--but it changes in dimensions when the edges are cut off. I really like them--this has always been a favorite quilt of mine. So many scraps!!!

There's always one block that doesn't work. You could use it for the label. Your blocks are looking wonderful!!

Sometimes you need to add in more of the fabric from the block that 'doesn't work'. Repeating it can actually calm things down! Good luck. Your blocks are beautiful.
