The Good, The Bad and a Thank You

First up a big thank you to my blogging friend Jane from Jane's Threads and Treasures for the sweet little package of goodies. I was away for a few weeks and this awaited me on my return. A little pin cushion, some pretty fabric, chocolates and some lip balm. A lovely gift that just made my day.

And now for "The Good". I am thrilled to be a new grandmother of this darling little girl. Due to adoption laws in the state she was born in, we were on pins and needles for awhile but all went well and she is a wonderful addition to the family.

We were able to go and help out with her older brother right after the birth, because of "The Bad". A few weeks ago, the company that my husband worked for was bought and was closed within a week. All the jobs were eliminated so, less than a year after moving here, we are putting our house up for sale and moving again. This will be the 7th or 8th move in 4 years! It has been a very difficult 4 years and we have decided that enough is enough and it is time to simplify our lives. The good news is that we can move back to be near the grandchildren and our son and daughter-in-law. We will be downsizing again and since my budget will be cut I will have to finally rely on my stash for my quilting. Good job I have a large stash to draw from! Lol

My back recovery continues, though slowly, and this will make the move even harder but I am ready to move forward and hopefully I will be stitching again soon.

Congratulations on your new beautiful granddaughter, what an absolute sweetie!! The thought of being closer to your garanchildren will be the thing that gets you through your move. What a shock that must be. It only seems you've just settled in. I'll be sending you good wishes that everything will run smoothly.

Oh my gosh! Talk about ups and downs! Congrats on your beautiful new grandie. She's a darling. So sorry to hear of the job situation. I expect something similar to happen in my life in the near future. :-( Isn't it grand to have stash??

Oh my gosh Heather. So much to deal with--good and bad. I was just wondering how you were doing, and thinking you must be busy spending time with your new grandbaby. It will be nice for you to be close to family, but so hard to have to move again after just getting settled. I wanted to thank you again for motivating me to be in that quilt-a-long. The baby quilt was a hit with the mom2be--I owe it all to you. :)

Congratulations on the new baby! I'm so sorry to hear about the job -- I hope your transition back "home" is smooth. I love your outlook about your stash -- sometimes I wonder if that's why I keep buying fabric -- 'cause I'm worried about the future???

What a sweet little girl!!! Glad she made it to your family, and that you could be there to help with big brother. Sorry to hear about your husband's job--know that is why you moved to be there. Hope your back keeps improving--quite a surgery you had & will keep mending. Go easy on yourself & don't lift too much. Glad you have a stash & you know there are others that would send you needed fabrics if you ran into a problem!! Like the thank you gift you received.
