"Butterflies are Free"

I finally had DH hang my "Butterflies are Free" quilt. The pattern for this quilt is in the book, "In the Meadow" by Blackbird designs and I knew it was just the look I wanted for my new house. This is not it's final destination as we hare having a bookshelves made for this wall, but til they arrive the quilt fills the space perfectly.

In between bouts of unpacking I have made a few more hexagons and hope to cut out a few more later today. It is so nice to have a little hand sewing to relax with. The sewing rooms are all unpacked but still require the final organizational touches and I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

On a side note, for those of you that have been following along, our house sold one week after we listed it. We had hail damage the night before the inspection that the inspector discovered. Fortunately the insurance company is replacing the roof, so the buyers are ending up with a brand new roof! Good deal for them as we would have asked more for the house had the roof been replaced earlier, but we are just grateful for a quick sale. Now we pray that the rest goes smoothly. My longarm table/frame is still there and we need to move it ASAP which is why I am so frantic to get the room ready. I am so excited to finally feel like I am moving forward and can get back to quilting soon!

Gorgeous! I've always thought of butterflies as a little girl thing but these have changed my mind and made me see them in a grown up light.

I love your butterfly quilt - great that you got it finished before the move! It has been an exhausting time for you - but hopefully also exciting with arranging furniture and rooms and going through all your sewing things!

What an awesome looking quilt. I know exactly how you felt with the hail damage repair we had a hail storm right before we sold our house as well. Thankfully the insurance covered it and the new owners got a new roof, just like yours did. It must have been their lucky day. Thanks so much for sharing.
