Well, though the MRI was inconclusive, there appears to be a small tear in my knee and I am having surgery in a few weeks. So I am prepping lots of appliqué for some post op stitching. Here is how "Birdsong" is looking so far. A few blocks are sewn and the rest are glued up ready for stitching. I am hoping to get all of these prepped before May 17. It is a relatively simple outpatient procedure and hopefully recovery will only be a few weeks but it will good to be prepared!
Hope all goes well with your surgery and during recuperation! Looks like you will be busy stitching.
ReplyDeleteI found the magazine with your son's quilt and your quilting. You must be so proud!
Your surgery will most certain go well if you have all that handwork prepped! (If you had nothing to sew you'd be immobilized for weeks) Hope it all goes really smoothly! Your birds are looking great!
ReplyDeleteoh I just love these birds....
ReplyDeletesorry about the surgery, good for you getting ready
I am sure you will have the quilt done before you know it, keep you busy thats a good thing !

Sorry to hear about your knee, but it's good to hear that you're taking it in stride and prepping the way only a quilter can! BNest wishes for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThese birds are beautiful! You make some of the prettiest quilts I have ever seen. Sorry about your surgery but recuperating looks like it's gonna be fun. :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best in your surgery. I'm so happy for you your hobby is appliqué and not bike riding : )
ReplyDeleteI hope your surgery goes well. It's times like that I think we're lucky that quilting is our hobby and not basketball :) . Those beautiful birds will be good company as you recuperate.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the knee news...but a bit of enforced rest and stitching may be just what you need at present! The appliqué is just stunning!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you have to have surgery. But it seems you are well prepared so you won't get bored afterwards. Take your time and look after yourself while recuperating.
ReplyDeleteOh by the way; your bird quilt is going to be another stunner. Is it for you new house?
I am sure all will go well with your surgery. Good idea to have some things ready to work on.
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are looking wonderful. All the best with the knee. It will take your mind off it if you have something fun to do :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a speedy recovery and happy stitching. I noticed that you have different backgrounds for your blocks. How do you go about planning this. Do you put the background blocks on your design wall and then decide what goes where?? Or is it serendipitous?? I've always wanted to use different backgrounds, but was not sure how to tackle it.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! That will keep you busy and make your recovery go so quick! I hope the surgery goes well. Will keep you in my thoughts...keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteOooo! Love your progress on your Birdsong quilt. I think you are way ahead of me.
ReplyDeleteI hope your surgery and recovery are speedy and easy. Take care!
