New beginnings

No quilting news in this one but instead an update on my move. Our stuff arrived here in Florida on Monday in not one but 2 moving trucks. We filled one whole semi and overflowed into another. Lets just blame it on all the DH's garage equipment and not the huge number of boxes of fabric and other quilt related items. ;)

Anyway I just thought I would post a few pictures of the kitchen and main living space in a sorta before and after kinda way. Hopefully no matter what is going on in your life, you will at least be happy that you aren't unpacking this mess. First up, filled with boxes and then after 2 1/2 days of unpacking. By myself, as DH is happily back to work. Obviously things are not yet properly arranged but at least I am starting to see my vision for this house come to life. I do enjoy unpacking and decorating but man I am exhausted. This better be the last move for a long time!!!

  1. Love the cabinets & black counter top and I see the butterfly quilt on your sofa! I am so envious of you. I've lived within at least 20 miles of where I grew up my entire life. Travel sounds so good to me and I've never even seen the ocean. Sorry you are having to work so hard bu can't wait to see the final results. :)

  2. Looks like you've been working hard! Hope it goes as easily as possible. Perhaps you need to take a break and do a little sewing from time to time, just to keep your energy up?

  4. Love your kitchen--the countertops are gorgeous!!!! Men always know when to go to work--less work there than at home!! The butterfly quilt looks fantastic on the couch and what a view from that room. At least for now everything is in it's proper place and clean. I bet you are glad you are finally to the move part--the anticipation and house building part always got to me---the actual work was not as bad because you could see results. You will sleep well now!! All new decisions can be about fabric and thread and patterns..........not paint color or stain color!!!!! Have fun. Judy

  15. Wow, you have made amazing progress. I am the wife of a retired military member so I know how overwhelming all of those boxes can be. Looks like you will soon be stitching, and just think of all the new and different wall space you can hang quilts: )
