I'm doing the Happy Dance

Yep, I'm excited because last night I finished the quilting on my Whig Rose. I have been quilting a little almost everyday and I can hardly believe that after several years it is finally done. I love it but a full picture won't be posted til I get a binding on it. This morning I have been researching bindings with flange or piping and I need to do a little experimenting before making a final decision.

Oh and I also finished another William Morris block. Though it isn't my favorite it will do. I actually find it much more difficult to select fabric on these 2 color blocks so I am happy that there aren't many of those even though the stitching goes much faster!

  3. Heather--you must be just beaming with happiness with all the work that went into this quilt. It seems like it will never get done, but just a little bit here and there does it!!! It is gorgeous. I think a piping or flange would look very cool on the edge. Hope you can decide on an edging. I think your WM block looks good. It will blend in very well with the others due to the style of the applique. Sometimes one color seems to stand out in a block that uses fewer colors--but it won't when mixed in with the other blocks. You get so much done--congrats!!!

  6. Congratulations. Your quilt is gorgeous. Thanks for your reply. The problem with all stabilizers is that they only last a couple of months after you open the package, after that the glue is not as good any longer. But, I still use it, even if it is not ideal. And do make sure you are using the right side down.^-^
