Design dilemma

For those of you who read my blog regularly, you may remember the difficulties I had with the decision for the setting triangles. Well I am asking for help again! I thought that I had decided on the cabbages with the pink stripe but now I'm not so sure I still like it. What do you think of the floral with the darker pink small border or even the cabbage with the darker pink. Or should I keep looking. Help please, I really love this one and want to get it right. I went to the local quilt shop and they didn't really get where I am trying to go with this so I am hoping you guys can give me advice. :)

  1. Weighing in here, I like the 2nd photo you've posted. It contrasts but yet frames the blocks from my point of view. I'll be interested to see what you choose.

  2. Just showed my 14yo daughter(Miss Emily), she choose the 2nd one also.

  3. Just my opinion, but the cabbage fabric seems to be too dull for the cheerfulness of your quilt (although the striped little border might be ok, depending on what you put with it). The cabbages just don't seem fun enough. :) I like the 2nd one the best, but you would have to judge it in real life if it does what you want it to do. I am not sure why (and maybe it would look terrible) but what about something with black and white or darker than your polka dot? Black and white just seems fun to me at the moment. (Of course I have no idea the room you plan to use it in either). I love this quilt too, so I'd take my time and make sure you love whatever you decide to do with the borders.

  4. I hope you don't mind me chipping in as I have only just discovered your blog. I think that the pink stripe is fine, but the cabbage fabric and the next one are too heavy for the circles on your lovely choice of turquoise spotted fabric. You would have to try it, but how about a plainer fabric or if you want a floral fabric, one with a very few colours and smaller flowers? You have a lovely delicate centre here. I nearly always find the binding or surrounding fabric takes ages to choose.

  5. I'm so in love with this project! I like the dark stripe, and I wonder about the triangles in the peony fabric and the border in cabbages?

  6. Oh, boy! that is looking good.
The cabbage fabric is so fun but I like the big floral one better myself. I think because it is darker and frames it better.
